As a follow up to your questions/comments about the correlation between speaker measurements and sound, I thought it would be helpful to point out the work of Floyd Toole. Floyd has produced pretty much the definitive research work on speaker measurements and their correlation to the subjective experience. I think the Floyds work (oh lets not forget the work of his colleagues such Sean Olive) deserves a thread to itself.
He has published the book below which provides a fantastic insight into the conclusions of the research. If there is one book to read about audio reproduction then this is it. Thoroughly recommended.
As in introduction the lecture below summarises the book and its most pertinent details. It really is worth an hour of your time.
Needless to say we base our own design work on the fundamental principles defined in Floyds research and have no problem publishing the detailed measured performance of our speaker.
