We have started updating the website this weekend, a long overdue task 😀.
We already had a section for customer feedback but have now also added a pages for articles and reviews in the audio press.
March Audio recently featured in Audio Esoterica. You can read the article here:

it is nice to read how you went into the hifi business. And I am glad to see that your business is going well. You desserve it!
Alan,
it seems to me that you are no longer publishing anything on ASR? Any particular reason?
I complained about another member that long has term repeatedly posted nonsense about class d amplifiers (note that multiple other members had also previously complained about this individuals behaviour in this respect multiple times) and I got banned until the 28th! Go figure!?!?!?
I have to say that there are a number of things that have concerned me with ASR lately. There are a number of technical things I dont agree with, including Amirs totally flawed methodology for subjectively testing speakers and tweaking them with EQ. Its not EQ per se thats the issue BTW. There have also been a number of clearly faulty speaker reviews due to measurement error or broken speakers which Amir has not performed what I would call "due diligence" on by cross checking with other measurement data available on the web, or having the courtesy to contact the manufacturer for opinion. He seems to expect them to chase him to correct his errors! These measurements are then passed off as definitively accurate until other members present data to to demonstrate the flaws/errors.
Providing ratings and subjective opinions on headphones is another flawed proposition - individual anatomy changes the response of headphones (its a different situation than speakers) so Amirs subjective opinion and EQ is irrelevant to anyone else. The target response curve is based on Harman research which has some significant limitations. Limitations that even Harman point out in their papers!
Note that Doug from Soundstage recently disappeared from ASR after making some criticisms of the speaker testing.
Im happy to discuss in more detail my technical objections in the Technical section of this forum, but I cant do it on ASR as I have been told in no uncertain (and highly offensive) terms by ASR moderation that "its not my playground" and essentially that I cant do anything that challenges Amirs position or data.
I see ASR as turning more to being "Amirs Audio Review" instead of its claim of being "Audio Science Review". Its a shame because its alleged ethos of being about science and avoiding the pitfalls of the "uncontrolled subjective audiophile" or unsubstantiated opinion as something I very much agree with.
As such I dont see myself contributing to ASR very much in the future - assuming I dont get permanently banned for posting this (wouldnt that speak volumes) 😉.
It is one reason for starting this forum - Im happy for a general audio discussion and technical discussion, it doesnt have to be limited to our products.
cheers
Alan
Alan,
I understand your concerns. If I have technical questions I will go through this forum to reach you.
However, since ASR has gained a lot of popularity, I would suggest to you to come back time to time on it at least to make everyone aware that you are launching new devices. The quality of your products deserves it!
cheers
Eric
I will indeed :)
cheers
I admit to being not on the technical side, and I really don't understand all the graphs that Amir publishes, but I agree about the comments about his speaker reviews. I've heard some of the speakers he praises and I'm not a fan. I believe speaker measurements are important but they don't tell the whole story. It seems if his measurements are 'good', he usually likes what he hears. I've also heard a lot of the 'audiophile press' praised speakers that I don't like. Everyone hears differently, and to not recommend a speaker based on his measurements and his hearing perceptions is not a real determinant on speaker performance for me. It's like if it measures good it sounds good, period.
Hi @oldgoalie3
I have continued this conversation in the "General Discussions" section
https://www.marchaudio.net.au/forum/general-discussion/speaker-measurements-and-sound
Hi all,
I'm new to the forum (so be kind & gentle 😊) and I am in the same camp as "oldgoalie3".
I have always loved my music but certainly won't describe myself as an audiophile. To me, if it sounds good, it is good. Regardless of any measurements!
But the point that Alan brings up is also valid. People can have a preconceived idea about any hardware when they have either tested it (like Amir) or we, as punters, when we read a review that is less than glowing about a piece of hardware (whether that be amplifier, speaker or other). I know I myself have been guilty of it.
Anyway, I won't be much use in the technical department but am happy to contribute in other ways.
Rob
@rob.beenhakker64
That's great Rob, glad to have you here.
This forum isn't intended to be only technical or scientific, any subjects or views are welcome. You can talk about other products too. Looking to create an audio community.
Cheers
